Welcome!

We are a Federally-funded program, operating under the Navajo Nation Government with funding source from the Office of Head Start – An Office of the Administration for Children & Families http://www.acf.hhs.gov/programs/ohs.

We provide educational opportunities as well as health-related services for children from age birth to 5 years old on the Navajo reservation. Our classroom educational setting includes Diné culture and language — and even our own Diné education curriculum!

Our goal is to provide support to parents who are the first and most important teachers to their children for a bright future. Our programs enhance relationships with families with an effort to strengthen a positive Parent-Child bond, family well-being and connections to peers and to their community.

The services we provide include: Dental Screenings, Hearing Screenings, Fluoride Treatment, Vision Screening, Disabilities Awareness, Family-Style Sit Down Meals, Social Learning, Emotional Learning, Mental Health Resources, Transportation To-From home, and a safe environment.

There are also services for parents!

Parent Involvement Opportunities that include: Parent Education, Training and Conference opportunities, a Volunteer Program (In-Kind), Parent Policy Council Involvement, Employment Opportunities, and Prevention & Intervention Services. Inquire at your local Navajo Head Start center or call us at 928/871-6902 for more information.
